消えた先代、9代目Alchemistを救い出すべく、現代の10代目Alchemistとその魔法軍団はGatewayを越えた。
辿り着いたDark Labは、あまりにも静かで不気味な空気が広がっていた。亡命したHop Dudeから聞いている通り、姿を現したNemesisは一切の敵意を見せない。そして、やはり来訪を歓迎するかのように、甘い言葉や“贈り物”で彼らを迎え入れたのだった。だが、そのどれもがどこか歪(いびつ)で、彼らの心を捉えることはなかった。
違和感だけが、静かに積み重なっていく。やがて10代目Alchemistは問い詰める。「先代を、どうした」
沈黙ののち、Nemesisはひとつの箱を取り出した。ゆっくりと蓋が開かれる。
その瞬間――視界が暗転した。
次に目を開いたとき、そこに広がっていたのは、どこかで見覚えのある光景だった。自分はいままで、何をしていたのか――その記憶を辿ろうとしたが、輪郭は掴めないまま霧散していく。
CitraのHyperboost(高濃度のホップオイル)に加え、ドライホップにはKrushとNectaronを主役に、MosaicのLUPOMAX(ルプリン含有の高い濃縮ホップ)とStrataの印象を重ねて。初夏の陽気が似合う、オレンジやグレープフルーツを思わせる爽やかで濃厚なアロマ。マンゴーやピーチ、メロンのような甘いニュアンスが重なり、シャープな草の苦みでフィニッシュ。
The dude literally disappeared. Into thin air. Or at least that’s what the rumors are.
Following leads beyond the Gateway in search for answers to his predecessor’s mysterious disappearance, our young alchemist found himself deep inside The Dark Lab—face to face with the Nemesis himself. The Nemesis’ charms (and offerings of fiendishly rare dark barrel-aged delights) mesmerized our Alchemist. He entered the main chamber of the Dark Lab, never to return.
Some outside the chamber say they saw a brief flash—without sound until a moment later when the Nemesis laughed - but this wasn’t the diabolical villainous (annoying) type, his was more of a “damn that was easy” kind of grunt.
With r8 (and the temporal finality of our “r” series) and into the lush folds of Krush, Nectaron and a couple of funky Citra additions, our Alchemist has vanished. Not a bad way to go out though? r8 has everything - Orange and grapefruit aromatics, sweet nuances of ripe mango and peach with a hint of melon—and a grassy bitterness that even the Nemesis would love. And with the Alchemist out of his way things are about to get very interesting in the land of the Hop Dude. Stay tuned.
